I got this game about 33 days ago and have 1.330 million gold so far. I haven't farmed, received any really expensive items, been given any money, scammed anyone, or anything of the like.
How do you have that much money? I was under the impression that you could have 100k for avatar plus 500k in storage. That's only 900k. Where's the other 430k from?

I do it in real life. 10K made so far in the markets this year (excluding the money made on currency speculation) and I don't trade very much. I made a real killing though when the Euro came out by buying 20K worth and I sold them when they were at 1.37 per Euro making 7.4K in profit. This is a about a 12.6% return per year which considering the market is pretty good. Expecially because I don't do this that much and many mutal funds made less, granted they take less risk.

You can have 999,999,999 gold in storage. So to be fair the most that you can have is 1,399,999 gold and I have about 1,350,XXX gold.

Possible. I would like it also. I am just commenting on anothers post. The point of my idea is to decrease inflation enough so that ANet has time to add the tradeers/auction house or gold sinks. This was never ment to be a permanent fix, only temporary until ANet does something permanent.

The reason I have recently posted so much on this forum is that each one is targeting a specific idea from a different person and in 1 post it would be way to much to read.

I'm going to go eat inner now so if I don't respond it is because I am eating.
Not like the post by someone else saying that I had heard your bashing of the idea and that it would never work so I left. (hydrak)

Tippy, I really admire what you're trying to do. Actually, admire is not really the right word, but...

So, you and your buddies have thousands of black dye. Ok, a little hard to believe, but I'll go with it.

Black dye is really expensive to buy. This angers you, so you and your buddies are going to sell all of yours off, to get the market moving in a different direction.

What do you think made the black dye so high to begin with? Any ideas? Could it possible be high because people are hoarding black dye? Who do you think would be hoarding it?

Our not adding our supply to the market does increase the price but it we have bought it for the same price the whole time and at a steady rate accross 3 countrys and many districts. buying all the black dye at once would lead to inflation but buying it little by little at the same price doesn't cause inflation as more is added to the market at the same or a better rate than we are removing it from the market.

Well, I don't have 1kk gold, but I'd join in with anything I had. ( over 100k at least )

You want to know whats fun? Be a monk. Get your starter wand, 2-3 dmg, and 10 dwarven ales. Get so drunk, and then just go around hitting badies with your wand. Your team mates will scream at you, and tell you 'use your skills.' Then you say 'what skills?'

Woops, I was so drunk I forgot to take any with me!

Then, its very fun when you get killed and no one res's you =(

Wait? You sold euro's? Thank God! I was not the only one to do that. Except in my case it was 50,000 euro's. ( True story )
I can't remember all the math that you did, but I made cash out of it I know.

I didn't have 50K at the time. I used all the liquidity in my trading account at the time.

The math depends on when you bought and when you sold.

I consider this quite good for only being 15 when I did this and I made another 20K total on this for some of my family. The money that I make goes towards college so I have lots more to make.

I find all this very scary. Ive never had more than 4k in my pocket and ive never found black dye, ive been playing for a month.

....but im happy with that. I also sell all my unwanted purple/gold items at the merchant, never for more that 50g. Can i sell them for more other than trading with other players?

Perhaps if there was some kind of player trading system (other than the shouting and trading channel, coz that just sucks) i might be jelious of you.

If you want to crash a market, try the dye market. If you drive the prices up, players are going to realize that it's better to spend their money on a decent weapon instead of having a black colored rag on their backs.

And since we create the economy, technically a-net isn't resposible for it.

And regardless of what anyone does, the economy is going to continue, eventually, because of other rich players not bent on destroying the market.

I know we just want to slow the mraket for a couple of weeks and the dye market is up for the chop along with others.

Dye market? Bah. I've already loaded myself up with black dyes when they were cheap.

Steel market? Ha. I ran out of room in my pile of steel, and had to sell it all to the trader, making around 100k. Aww.
